My Story

I’ve been working as a professional graphic designer since 1992.

I can still pinpoint the moment I realized this was the path for me. As a kid tagging along to the grocery store with my mom, I found myself less interested in the snacks and more fascinated by the packaging—especially the generic brands. I’d study the labels and think, this could be better… I could design something better. That small, slightly bold thought turned out to be the spark that set everything in motion.

I wasn’t the stereotypical “artist type,” and I didn’t stand out in obvious ways. But I had a natural instinct for design—an ability to bring order to visual chaos and organize information in a way that made sense. That skill became the foundation of my work.

In high school, my art teacher encouraged me to pursue art and design seriously and helped me apply to a few art schools. I was accepted to Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York—a big leap from my Florida roots and an experience that pushed me creatively and personally. During my senior year, a classmate passed along a lead for a full-time position at a Manhattan design firm. He was looking for something part-time—I wasn’t. I took the opportunity, landed the job, and stepped straight into the industry. The whole experience felt so seamless that I’ve always seen it as one of those moments where everything aligns just right.

Since then, I’ve built a career spanning multiple industries, including scholastic, financial, advertising, and publishing. Each chapter has added to my perspective, sharpened my skills, and reinforced my passion for thoughtful, effective design.

I’m grateful for the journey so far—and still driven by that same instinct I had as a kid: to make things look better, work better, and connect with people in a meaningful way.
